Medtronic Campus, 3593 Round Barn Blvd, Santa Rosa, CA 95403
These 1- or 2-bedroom homes range from 380 to 744 square feet and will provide immediate relief for families displaced by the wildfires.
The nine Cottages will provide temporary rental housing for 2 to 5 years for fire survivors working to rebuild or secure other permanent housing. Temporarily located at the Medtronic campus, the cottages will eventually be relocated to a permanent site in Santa Rosa and sold to newly qualified Habitat families.
The Cottages also are an important demonstration project for modern construction technologies to inform the future of building in Sonoma County.
The Sonoma Wildfire Cottage Initiative is a pilot program of nine homes serving as a learning lab to highlight various options for long-term affordable and
workforce housing solutions for Sonoma County.
Habitat for Humanity Sonoma County partnered with renowned Hurricane Katrina Cottage developer and designer Marianne Cusato. Design and installation of the Cottages is helping expand Habitat’s capacity to build more homes even more quickly and efficiently.
We hope to see you there!
